A global media company needed to update their privacy messaging and interface for obtaining user consent in compliance with GDPR regulations. They turned to the UXalliance to understand consumers’ understanding of privacy and test out a new prototype in 5 countries across Western Europe.
1:1 moderated interviews included open ended discussion to understand current experience and understanding of online privacy, and usability walkthrough of current sites and of a prototype.
Working with in-country partners, we were able to provide the cultural context that the client needed to understand how differences in each market necessitated a nuanced approach to iteration and launch. Ultimately, the client was able to unveil an updated interface that both met legal guidelines and guided users through a seamless, easy to understand consent process.
